Where Do AirDrop Photos & Files Go on Mac, iPhone or iPad

“Where do AirDrop files go when I transfer them between an iPhone and iPad? I AirDropped some Google Docs from my iPad to my iPhone but nothing happened; where did my files go? Any ideas?”

AirDrop is a pretty useful feature that allows users to send various types of data like photos, videos, music, documents, notes and even website links between nearby Apple devices like Mac, iPhone, iPad without using wires. Despite the convenience of AirDrop, it can be difficult to figure out especially if you are using this function for the first time. The thing that stumps most new users of the service is where the files sent to you via AirDrop are located on the device. If you don’t know where to look, it can be difficult to find the files.

AirDrop.

If this is the current predicament you find yourself in, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we will show you exactly where AirDrop photos and files go on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. Let’s take a look.

Part 1. Where Do AirDrop Files Go on iPhone/iPad

It is important to note that iOS doesn’t have a specially designated location for data that you receive via AirDrop. All files that you receive via AirDrop, will be opened and handled separately by their respective corresponding apps. For example, when someone sends you a photo via AirDrop, the received files will be opened in the Photos app.

Where Do AirDrop Files Go on iPhone.

You will receive a notification with a preview of the photo as soon as someone sends it to you via AirDrop and you can choose whether to “Accept” or “Decline”. When you “Accept” the photo, it will open in the Photos app.

Part 2. Where Do AirDrop Files Go on Mac

The process is completely different on Mac. Here, all files received via AirDrop are stored on the Mac’s “Downloads” folder by default. You can locate the Download folder by navigating to it through “Finder > Go” or through the Dock. Once you locate the Downloads folder, you will be able to see the recently downloaded files including the files sent to you via AirDrop.

It is important to note that if you receive a file via AirDrop from a device that shares the same Apple ID, you will not get the option to “Accept” or “Decline”. The files will automatically appear on the receiving device.

Part 3. AirDrop Alternative to Transfer Files from iPhone to Mac

While AirDrop is a great solution for transferring files from one device to another, it still has some limitations. Using AirDrop, you are allowed to transfer one file type at one time. 3. Click “Enter” and wait for several minutes for the formatting.

Bottom Line

In this tutorial, we have learnt how to recover deleted photos, videos and more files from USB flash drives. However, it should be noted that even the top-rated file recovery software will not guarantee 100% of successful recovery, because some of the data might has been overwritten during or after the deletion process. For video files, especially, you may need to know how to repair corrupted videos if the files have been partially overwritten.

YOTV Channels app review: Enjoying TV in your palm!

YOTV Channels app review: Enjoying TV in your palm!

We have already reviewed the Airtel TV app, and this is where we talked about the transition of television. From a sit-at-home business, to a get-to-you-anywhere form of entertainment. You can read the review here and find out why you should (or shouldn’t) download the app.

Before Airtel unveiled its live TV and video-on-demand app, MTN Uganda had just penned a partnership with YOTV Channels to do something similar – or even bigger, as some say. Basically the YOTV Channels app is a mobile television, radio, and VOD depository where users get to enjoy their entertainment while on the move.

Getting started

You can download the YOTV Channels App from Play store for Android or iOS for iPhone, enter your phone number through which you will receive an OTP SMS that you enter for confirmation. Like for the Airtel TV app, you have to ensure that you have an active data bundle that will let you stream and watch all channels available on the App.

First Impressions

I personally found the app very easy to use, interesting, and quite rich in content. Without a doubt, the only bill you have to pay is the data bundles to use because without a stable connection, you stand to miss out on a lot.

The key content available on the app is Series, movies, radio and TV.

The Good about YOTV Channels App:

I struggle to listen to radio without earphones. YOTV Channels app just saved my day. When am at home, and need to have that loud music off my favourite station play as I write the articles, I just have to tune in and get the groove on.

Besides enjoying live TV on the go, you can also get to view the day’s programming through the clearly output guide in the menu. A lot of the local network is well bred in, with select international news channels also part of the deal.

The video-on-demand section is equally good for starters. Have I told you that you can actually record content on the app? There’s a whole 300 minutes of memory for you to utilize. There’s also the ability to keep tabs on live shows that you are likely to miss out on watching.

The Bad about YOTV Channels App:

The movie section is very limited. Just a few movies to watch, with majority in translation. I watched everything on the app in under a day and still wanted more, but couldn’t get. One would also expect all the radio stations to be captured, but it is not the case. Just a few are available.

There is no Ugandan content in the video-on-demand category. I watched a couple of these on the Airtel TV app, but YOTV seems to have opted for international films in this phase.

No premium content – though, still, one would not expect premium content on a free app.

Conclusion

I would recommend it for those that love listening to radio, without having to plug in the earphones. As well as lovers of translated movies and series. YOTV Channels app got you fully covered.

Airtel TV app review: Stream live television on the go!

Airtel TV app review: Stream live television on the go!

For those that saw the transition from on-the-desk land lines and street pay phones to the now widely spread network of mobile handsets, you can relate the journey that television has moved. From the analog big-bodied monitors that we used to view limited programming on, to the versatile pay TV channels, and now mobile TV – like the Airtel TV app. The journey has been remarkable.

Airtel Uganda recently unveiled its live TV and video-on-demand app, Airtel TV, for customers to watch local television on the go, as well as enjoy entertainment from the available list of shows and movies.

Getting started

You can download the Airtel TV App from Play store for Android or iOS for iPhone, enter your Airtel number through which you will receive an OTP SMS that you enter for confirmation.

Ensure that you have an active Airtel data bundle that will let you stream and watch all channels available on the App.

First Impressions

Having the Airtel TV app on your mobile does save you a lot of money you could have spent on renewing your decoder subscription – to watch local channels – and lets you watch it all from wherever you are; no restrictions.

The key content available on the app is Shows, movies, and TV.

The Good about Airtel TV:

With a good internet connection, you can have it all. The TV section has all the programming set in line, with the time of airing perfectly set. You can ably switch between the HD channels, your preferred language or category of choice.

There a good number of movies available, especially the local (Ugandan) productions. For those that love sitting back and watching every minute of the native action, it suits you well. The app is a good library from which to pick from.

If you want to continue watching as you browse for any other content, the app offers a picture-in-picture mode that can keep you going.

You can also add your favourite channels to a watch you keep tabs on when it is airing or even play on if already in the library.

The Bad about Airtel TV:

  • No screenshots. You can’t tell a friend about any interesting part you enjoyed in a show or on TV.
  • The Hollywood section “content is not available”.
  • No premium content – though one would not expect premium content on a free app.

Conclusion

You want TV everywhere you go? The Airtel TV app is just for you. Recharge your data bundle, download the app, and stream.

How to Print Text Messages from iPhone 11/XS/XR/X/8/7/6S

How to Print Text Messages from iPhone 11/XS/XR/X/8/7/6S

Sometimes the text messages on your iPhone would be crucial: they could be evidence to defend yourself at court or a precious memory between you and a passed-away friend. It is common for iPhone users to back up the iPhone text messages with iTunes or iCloud. However, it will be better to print out text messages from iPhone on paper, if you want to use them as convincing evidence. Also, since all the electronic devices would crash, this is another form of backup.

Although now Apple introduced AirPrint on iOS device, you can’t use it to directly print your messages from iPhone as the same of printing iPhone photos. Some iPhone users come up with printing text messages from iPhone by Email or taking screenshots. These two methods are easy and workable, but each of them has its disadvantages. In this article, we will share with you 4 different ways on how to print text messages from iPhone for court or backup, along with step-by-step guides.

Print Text Messages from iPhone.

Method 1: Print Out Text Messages from iPhone by Email

It is an easy way to print out text messages from iPhone by Email, but there are some defects of this method. You have to manually copy and paste the text messages one by one, which can be a tedious task if there are many text messages to print out. Moreover, the text messages printed out by Email have no time and date information, as well as the contact information of the person who sends the text messages. Thus, this method is only suitable when you have just a handful of iPhone text messages to print for backup.

  • Step 1: Open the Messages app on the iPhone and click on the conversation you want to print out.
  • Step 2: Long press the message until a “Copy/More” dialogue propping up, and then tap on the “Copy” option to copy the text messages you need.
  • Step 3: Go to the Mail app on the iPhone and create a new email.
  • Step 4: Paste the text message you copied on the message body, and send it to your own Email account.
  • Step 5: Open the email you just send and click on the arrow icon at the bottom right corner, then choose the Print option.
  • Step 6: Finally, choose a connected AirPrint-enabled printer and start printing text messages from iPhone.
  • How to Print out Text Messages from iPhone by Email

In case you don’t have an AirPrint-enabled printer, you can try to sign in your email account on a PC or Mac and then print out iPhone text messages straight from the computer.

Method 2: Print Text Messages from iPhone via Taking Screenshots

As the iOS AirPrint function can be used to print photos from the iPhone, one of the easy ways to print iPhone messages is by taking screenshots. This method can retain time, date, and contact information, which cannot be achieved by Email. However, it needs your repeated operations if you want to print long or different message threads on the iPhone. Also, this method requires you to have an AirPrint-enabled printer. So taking screenshots is suitable when there are only one or several text messages to print from iPhone for court or other purpose.

Simple steps on how to print text messages from iPhone for free with screenshot:

  • Open the Messages app and find the texts you want to print.
  • Press the Home button and the Power button at the same time, then release them to take the screenshot. (iPhone X will need the Side button and the Volume Up button together)
  • Go to the Photos app on iPhone, select the screenshots of text messages, and tap on the Share button on the bottom left.
• Choose “Print” in the sharing options and select a printer enabled AirPrint, or you can email it to your email account for printing.
How to Print Text Messages from iPhone via Taking Screenshots

If you don’t have an AirPrint-enabeld printer, you can try to transfer these screenhots to your PC or Mac and print them from computer. It’s tedious to repeat the same operation again and again if you have a bulk of messages to print out from the iPhone. Then you can follow the following two methods to print all messages from iPhone easily at once.

Method 3: Print Deleted Text Messages from iPhone with iPhone Data Recovery

If you have deleted messages to print out from the iPhone, Gihosoft iPhone Data Recovery will be a good choice for you. It can recover deleted iPhone messages and print out the date/time information and contact information of text messages, which is helpful for court.

WhatsApp Backup to iCloud Stuck? How to Fix It

WhatsApp Backup to iCloud Stuck? How to Fix It

“WhatsApp iCloud backup stuck at 0% and just won’t move. Last successful backup was on 7th January 2020, since then the process keeps hanging. My iCloud is as good as unused, it has 4.5GB/5GB available. Any tips or the same problem?”

For iPhone users, iCloud is the best and most reliable way to backup WhatsApp chats. Not only it is easy, the process can be automatic and restoring the backup is also very simple. But like most other iOS features, the WhatsApp iCloud backup process may often run into problems. The most commonly reported issue, is the WhatsApp iCloud backup stuck at 0% for hours. This can be problematic, because you may be unable to use WhatsApp or the device until the issue is resolved.

Fortunately, there are numerous troubleshooting solutions you can try to fix this issue and most of them are easy to handle. This article outlines 6 of the best ways to fix a WhatsApp backup to iCloud stuck problem and they work well even for the latest iPhone 11/11 Pro and iOS 13.

Way 1: Check Network Connection

A stable and reliable network connection is necessary when you want to backup WhatsApp to iCloud. When the network is unstable, the process can get stuck. Therefore, the first thing you should do when faced with the WhatsApp backup to iCloud stuck problem is to ensure that the iPhone is connected to a stable Wi-Fi or Cellular data connection. If necessary, move the device closer to the Wi-Fi router to strengthen the connection.

If you’re still having issues with the connection, consider resetting the network settings on your iPhone. To do that, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Check Network Connection.

Way 2: Check iCloud Storage

Another requirement for a successful WhatsApp backup to iCloud is adequate storage space in iCloud. Keep in mind that iCloud offers 5GB free space and you may need more if you backup most of your data to iCloud.

To check if you have sufficient iCloud storage space, please go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage. Here, you will see the available space in iCloud and details of the storage space taken up by different apps and data. If you don’t have sufficient storage, consider deleting some data or purchasing additional storage space.

Check iCloud Storage.

Way 3: Check Apple System Status

Sometimes the backup process can stuck if the iCloud server has crashed. This can happen from time to time especially if there are a lot of people trying to backup WhatsApp all at the same time.

To check it, just go to Apple System Status page and look for a green dot next to “iCloud Services”. If there is an orange dot instead, the system may have crashed and you just need to wait until it is available again.

Check Apple System Status

Way 4: Change WhatsApp Auto Backup Frequency

You might be able to fix the WhatsApp iCloud backup stuck problem by changing the automatic backup frequency from daily to monthly. The following steps will help you do that:

  1. Open WhatsApp on your iPhone and select the “Settings” tab at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. Now tap on “Chats” and then choose “Chats Backup”.
  3. Tap “Auto Backup” and then change the backup frequency to monthly. You can always change this frequency later.
    Change WhatsApp Auto Backup Frequency.

Way 5: Remove the Last WhatsApp Backup and Try Again

If changing the WhatsApp auto backup frequency won’t help, you can try to remove the last WhatsApp backup on your iPhone and then attempt to backup WhatsApp again. Follow these simple steps to do it:

  1. On your iPhone, Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage.
  2. Tap on “Backups” to locate the latest backup (you can tell using date and time).
  3. Tap on “Delete Backup” to delete the WhatsApp backup from iCloud.
Remove the Last WhatsApp Backup and Try Again

After that, you can try to backup WhatsApp to iCloud manually to see if the problem has been resolved.

MWC 2020 postponed over coronavirus concerns

MWC 2020 postponed over coronavirus concerns

The coronavirus is not just affecting health and relations, it’s impacting on tech too. The MWC, arguably the biggest smartphone trade show of every other year, has been postponed for this year. Reason? The safety and health of attendees is at risk, something that has resulted in numerous stakeholders and manufacturers pulling out of the event weeks prior.

GSMA, the organization that hosts the show in Barcelona annually, says it’s cancelling MWC 2020 over coronavirus-related concerns. The event was slated to run between February 24th and 27th.

“With due regard to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, the GSMA has cancelled MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, travel concern and other circumstances, make it impossible for the GSMA to hold the event.”

Statistics indicate that over 100,000 people attended last year’s MWC with a huge portion registered to be from China as well as being Chinese company employees. Now that the country is still healing from the epidemic blow that is still recording infections and deaths, the likelihood of this year’s event happening was very slim.

The announcement comes after several large companies, including Amazon, LG, Sony, NVIDIA, Nokia, and even Samsung said they plan to skip the conference to keep their employees safe from the virus.

Full statement from the GSMA:

Since the first edition of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2006, the GSMA has convened the industry, governments, ministers, policymakers, operators and industry leaders across the broader ecosystem.

With due regard to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, the GSMA has cancelled MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, travel concern and other circumstances, make it impossible for the GSMA to hold the event.

The Host City Parties respect and understand this decision.

The GSMA and the Host City Parties will continue to be working in unison and supporting each other for MWC Barcelona 2021 and future editions.

Our sympathies at this time are with those affected in China, and all around the world.
